Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a trainee to learn fleet management, driver supervision, and compliance with DOT regulations at our Texas facilities. You will support load planning, routing, and service reliability while collaborating with drivers, carriers, and internal teams.

The role involves learning payroll, budgeting, reporting, and yard maintenance tasks, with potential travel and regional relocation as needed to support accounts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, or related field, or HS Diploma with 1 year in related work.
• Willing to travel to account, customer, and company events.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and weekends.
• Willingness to regionally relocate depending on account assignment.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain positive relationships with drivers and outside carriers.
• Fill in for absent personnel and on special projects to optimize fleet operations.
• Learn to utilize personnel management including training and orientation of drivers.
• Maximize efficiency of fleet operations and profitability; present customer reports and analyses.
• Gain knowledge of inventory, assets, and driver assignments management.
• Perform payroll, Net Revenue budgeting, invoicing, and reporting tasks.
• Manage yard operations and coordinate maintenance with service providers.
