Job summary

WM is seeking a Fleet Manager in Elizabeth, PA to lead a 35–45 unit fleet and a team of 4–5 direct reports. You will oversee maintenance, compliance, and asset utilization to ensure safe, reliable, and cost‑effective operations.

You will drive profitability through budgeting, preventive maintenance programs, vendor relationships, and lifecycle planning while meeting DOT/OSHA standards and WM policies. This role requires effective communication with field operations and corporate stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with 4 years relevant experience.
• 5 years of relevant fleet management experience.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe, reliable vehicles meet operational requirements.
• Lead maintenance managers to optimize performance and cost.
• Oversee capital equipment requests per corporate guidelines.
• Manage asset utilization and maintenance staffing.
• Ensure vehicle management systems are used effectively.
• Comply with WM’s safety standards and regulatory programs.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
• Develop and coach fleet personnel; promote safety culture.
• Monitor training, performance, and staff development.
