WM is seeking a Fleet Manager in Elizabeth, PA to lead a 35–45 unit fleet and a team of 4–5 direct reports. You will oversee maintenance, compliance, and asset utilization to ensure safe, reliable, and cost‑effective operations.
You will drive profitability through budgeting, preventive maintenance programs, vendor relationships, and lifecycle planning while meeting DOT/OSHA standards and WM policies. This role requires effective communication with field operations and corporate stakeholders.
The Fleet Manager is responsible for the overall management and performance of the fleet operation in Elizabeth, PA, overseeing a fleet of approximately 35–45 primary and secondary units and leading a team of 4–5 direct reports. This role manages all fleet maintenance, repair, compliance, and asset utilization activities while ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective operations.
The Fleet Manager continually focuses on achieving market-based profitability through effective planning, budgeting, and control of fleet-related expenses. Responsibilities include overseeing preventative maintenance programs, vendor relationships, inventory management, equipment lifecycle planning, and regulatory compliance with all DOT, OSHA, and company standards. The position plays a key role in driving equipment availability, minimizing downtime, enhancing operational efficiency, and supporting the overall success of the business.
In addition, the Fleet Manager is responsible for developing and coaching fleet personnel, promoting a strong safety culture, and ensuring high standards of training and performance.
