Job summary

Hirschbach Motor Lines is seeking a Driver Leader to oversee daily operations of an assigned fleet of drivers. You will maximize fleet productivity, equipment utilization, and driver retention, while monitoring performance, promoting safety, and delivering Best in Class service across Hirschbach’s operations.

Responsibilities include communicating with drivers, coordinating freight, ensuring policy compliance, and supporting drivers for long-term success.

Qualifications

• Understands Hirschbach operations and freight network.
• Proven ability to build positive relationships with Hirschbach operators.
• Knowledge of driver retention and its impact on operations.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with drivers by promptly answering calls, emails, and messages.
• Sends preplans to drivers and secures load commitments promptly.
• Tracks operator performance from dispatch to delivery for on-time service.
• Manages driver availability and updates PTAs based on scheduling needs.
• Coaches drivers to identify performance improvements and provide training.
• Collaborates with Safety to ensure compliance and coaching.
• Resolves potential settlement or pay issues with Driver Payroll.
• Attends driver operations meetings and may travel to terminals.
• Maintains minimum board of 15 drivers and demonstrates leadership.
