Job summary

Opportunities, Inc. is seeking a Fleet Manager in Lanham, MD to oversee the vehicle fleet, ensure safe operations, and manage compliance and procurement. You will supervise drivers, coordinate routes, and partner with leadership to optimize costs and fleet readiness.

The role requires strong fleet management experience, vendor relations, and proficiency with fleet systems, with a focus on safety and efficiency for community-based services.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in fleet maintenance and/or fleet management.
• Experience supervising, scheduling, coaching, and supporting staff.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience managing fleet compliance requirements (registrations, inspections, recalls, insurance documentation).
• Experience monitoring driver safety and traffic violations.
• Ability to develop and provide training on safe driving and transportation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage the organization's fleet of vehicles, ensuring vehicles are well maintained and cycled as needed.
• Oversee fleet information systems and GPS/tracking.
• Supervise fleet drivers including scheduling, timesheet approvals, and training.
• Coordinate transportation routes and update route systems.
• Procure and replace vehicles; budget for fleet needs and replacement planning.
• Ensure registrations, inspections, and recalls are completed on time.
• Maintain fleet records and documentation; manage insurance and incidents.
