Job summary

Management Performance Associates seeks a Director of Operations to lead the design and rollout of a centralized fleet-wide operating model across multiple sites. The role drives standardization, performance cadences, and integration of acquisitions while maintaining local accountability.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in power generation operations, 3+ years as a Plant Manager, and strong analytical, leadership, and change-management skills to optimize safety, reliability, and cost

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in engineering or equivalent; substitution allowed for experience.
• 10+ years in power generation operations and maintenance, including multi-site leadership.
• 3+ years as Plant Manager or equivalent with safety, availability, budget and compliance accountability.
• Valid driver’s license; strong written and verbal communication; ability to influence across functions.

Responsibilities

• Drive operational excellence: safety, regulatory compliance, reliability, efficiency, and cost competitiveness.
• Partner with Asset Management and Finance to translate operational drivers into production economics and capital allocation.
• Develop fleet metrics, definitions, dashboards, and root-cause routines.
• Lead annual and multi-year planning cycles (O&M budgets, outage plans, capital plans) and ensure disciplined execution.
• Develop supplier/contract strategy to optimize cost and performance.
• Identify and mitigate operational risks, including safety, environmental, reliability, cyber/OT resilience, and supply chain issues.
• Support M&A due diligence, integration planning, and stand-up of new sites into standards.
• Enable multi-technology execution and adaptability of operating models to new projects.
• Build a high-performance culture; coach Plant Managers and foster succession planning.
