Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks a Motor Vehicle Driver Technician I in Carlsbad, TX. This role performs complex maintenance and repair on motor vehicles, conducts safety inspections, and ensures parts are properly diagnosed and serviced.

Strong attention to safety and accuracy is essential. As part of the Motor Pool, you will work under general supervision, potentially support disaster response, and may require various certifications.

Qualifications

• Combination of education and experience equal to high school graduation or GED.
• Accredited vocational/technical automotive program preferred.
• One year of related work experience in motor vehicle repair/maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, diagnosis, repair or replacement of defective vehicle components.
• Perform safety and emissions inspections.
• Repair/overhaul motors, transmissions, differentials and carburetors; service related systems.
