Job summary

City of McAllen, TX is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to keep city fleets, trailers and generators in top operating condition. The role also performs State inspections on commercial vehicles as required by state law.

This on-site position emphasizes safety, reliability and timely repairs to minimize downtime for city operations. Candidates should have hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work independently or with a team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Experience with vehicle maintenance preferred.
• ASE certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair city vehicles, trailers and generators.
• Perform State Inspections on Commercial Vehicles as required by law.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
• Ensure safety compliance and proper documentation.
