The Town of Longmeadow is seeking a full-time Fleet Mechanic to perform skilled automotive work on town trucks, automobiles, and heavy equipment. The role focuses on inspection, diagnostics, repair, and preventive maintenance to ensure proper fixes on first visit.

Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma or equivalent and 3–5 years of related experience, with a Class B CDL preferred along with air brake/tanker endorsements.

Qualifikationen

• Knowledge of repair and maintenance of light and heavy vehicles and equipment; welding; electrical systems; and safety inspections.
• Ability to use diagnostic software and communicate effectively in writing.

• Perform skilled automotive work in inspection, diagnostic, repair, and maintenance of town vehicles and equipment.
• Ensure vehicles are fixed correctly on first visit and implement preventative maintenance programs.
• Operate lifts and heavy equipment per safety guidelines and on-call for emergencies.
