Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. is seeking a Mechanic 2 in Terre Hill, PA to perform intermediate to advanced diagnostics, repairs and maintenance on trailers, diesel and gasoline-powered vehicles and plant equipment.

You will build on Mechanic 1 duties, interpret repair manuals, diagnose engines and electrical systems, and use OEM diagnostics tools. The role requires solid experience, attention to safety, and willingness to travel for training as needed.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Brake certification required.
3+ years in vehicle maintenance or vocational training +1 year experience.
Must have personal basic tool set to perform preventive maintenance.
Experience with diesel and gasoline engines essential.
Experience with OEM diagnostics tools and software.
Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, work orders, and manuals.
Experience with hand and power tools and shop equipment.
Detail oriented and highly organized.
Proficient with basic computer tasks and fleet software.

Responsibilities

Interpret repair manuals to properly repair equipment.
Diagnose and repair diesel and gas engines, electrical systems, transmission and hydraulic systems.
Troubleshoot air brake systems, suspension components, and drivetrains.
Use diagnostics software and scan tools to identify issues.
Maintain service records and complete work orders in fleet systems.
Respond to roadside service calls when required.
Mentor Mechanic 1 as needed.
Maintain shop cleanliness and safety.
Perform preventive maintenance on fleet and plant equipment.
Travel for ongoing training as needed.
