Job summary

RelaDyne LLC in Virginia is seeking a Mechanic II to keep our diesel fleet operating safely and efficiently. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and support maintenance of trucks, trailers, fuel trucks, and other fleet equipment.

You will work independently on routine repairs and partner with senior technicians on more complex diagnostics. The position includes DOT/OSHA safety adherence, accurate documentation, and opportunities for ongoing training and career growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–4 years experience maintaining and repairing diesel/heavy-duty vehicles.
• Knowledge of diesel engines, air brake systems, electrical systems and hydraulics.
• Ability to diagnose and complete intermediate repairs with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver's license and basic computer skills for documenting maintenance.
• Experience with fuel trucks or petroleum equipment is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance including oil changes, filter changes, inspections, and fluids.
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, electrical, air brakes, steering, suspension, and hydraulics.
• Inspect vehicles and equipment for maintenance and safety issues.
• Assist with maintenance and repairs of fuel systems and pumps (training provided).
• Complete repairs efficiently with high-quality workmanship.
• Work with senior mechanics on complex diagnostics and major repairs.
• Maintain accurate work orders and inspection reports.
• Follow DOT, OSHA, and company safety policies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe work environment.
• Respond to roadside service calls as needed.
• Participate in ongoing training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
