Job summary

Park County Government in Colorado is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic I to maintain and repair county vehicles and equipment in the Public Works shops and in the field. You will diagnose issues, perform oil changes, tire service, welding, and ensure compliance with DOT standards.

The position offers a 40-hour week, a 4-day week option, competitive benefits, and potential overtime for emergencies or snow removal.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduation from an accredited vocational school in mechanics is preferred or two years’ experience as a mechanic.
• Two years’ experience as a mechanic in automotive is desired or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• To achieve 50% or greater of pay a Class B CDL is required
• Must pass background check

Responsibilities

• Perform basic maintenance work such as change oil and filters, grease and lube service, change, balance, and rotate tires, and change air, fuel, and hydraulic filters.
• Inspect and repair vehicles and equipment to comply with Public Works and DOT standards and regulations.
• Document job time, vehicle hours and miles, parts used per job, parts needed, and any repairs accomplished.
• Provide field service in emergency situations.
• Repair, rebuild, replace and diagnose problems within a wide variety of Park County equipment.
• Operate vehicles and equipment to troubleshoot, test, and confirm repairs.

Skills

Two years mechanic experience

CDL Class B required
