Job summary

Universal Waste Systems, Inc. seeks a Mechanic’s Helper to assist Mechanics in repairing fleet and equipment to minimize downtime and optimize operations.

You will help inspect and repair powertrain, electrical, suspension, brakes, and hydraulics on trucks and equipment. You will learn to use vehicle computer systems and diagnostic software, perform basic preventative maintenance, document records, and comply with safety and environmental regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Certifications a plus.
• Experience in the resource recovery industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with inspection, adjustment and repair of powertrain, electrical, suspension, brakes and hydraulics on trucks and equipment.
• Support preventative maintenance including oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and related tasks.
• Assist in on-road emergency service calls.
• Learn to use vehicle computer electronics and diagnostic software.
