Job summary

The Guam Guide, LLC is seeking a on-site Diesel Mechanic Helper to diagnose, disassemble, and repair diesel engines at client sites across the United States.

Responsibilities include inspecting parts, replacing worn components, welding when necessary, and accurately documenting repairs. A valid driver's license and ability to obtain DBIDS are required; CDL is a plus. This role offers competitive wages and benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of diesel repair experience.
• Must obtain DBIDS (base access).
• High School Diploma/GED or relevant experience to the position.
• Communication skills.
• A valid Driver`s License is required.
• CDL preferred but not required.
• Proficient computer skills/ability to document repairs and use email.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses trouble, disassembles engines, and inspects parts for wear.
• Reconditions and replaces parts using hand tools and precision instruments.
• Examine equipment, read inspection reports, and confer with shop managers to locate malfunctions.
• Dismantle defective machines for repair.
• Repair or replace defective parts using welding tools and equipment.
• May weld and cut parts as needed.
• Clean and lubricate parts.
• Reassemble machines and test operation after repair.
• Record details of repairs made and parts used.
• Drive trucks to haul tools and equipment for on-site repair of large machinery.
• Able to work flexible hours.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Diagnoses trouble, disassembles engines, and examines parts for defects and excessive wear.
• Reconditions and replaces parts, such as pistons, bearings, gears, valves, and bushings, using engine lathes, boring machines, hand tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Examine and listen to equipment, read inspection reports, and confer with shop managers to locate and diagnose malfunctions.
• Dismantle defective machines for repair, using hand tools.
• Repair or replace defective parts, using hand tools, welding equipment, grinders, or saws.
• May weld and cut parts, using arc welding and flame-cutting equipment.
• Clean and lubricate parts.
• Reassemble machines and equipment following repair; test operation; and adjust as necessary.
• Record details of repairs made, and parts used.
• Drive trucks to haul tools and equipment for on-site repair of large machinery.
• Able to work flexible hours.
• Other duties as assigned.
