Job summary

Sarasota County is seeking a Fleet Service Technician to maintain and repair heavy trucks and emergency vehicles. Candidates should have 2+ years of mechanical experience and be capable of working on various equipment including UTVs and pumps.

The position offers an excellent benefits package including Health, Dental, Vision insurance, and a tool allowance. Work hours are Monday to Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with on-call requirements.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of mechanical experience in automotive or heavy vehicle/equipment repair.
• Valid Florida Class 'B' Commercial Driver’s License within 6 months from hiring.
• Ability to obtain Hazmat certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair County Fire Department's vehicles and equipment.
• Perform inspections and serviceability checks on all brake, steering, and drive line components.
• Utilize laptop computers to complete repair details.
