City of La Habra invites applications for an Equipment Mechanic who will perform skilled mechanical repair work and preventive maintenance on automotive equipment within the Fleet Division of Public Works. The ideal candidate has two years of journey-level experience with gas and diesel systems and a strong aptitude for diagnosing issues.

Applicants should understand California emissions, welding, and electrical repair basics, and demonstrate excellent customer service.

Qualifications

Two years journey level mechanic experience in repair of gas, and diesel-powered vehicles and equipment, heavy trucks, road construction equipment and routine maintenance of a diverse variety of vehicles and equipment is required.
Experience with public safety emergency vehicles (police/fire) is highly desirable.
Must have skill in Windows operating system and Microsoft Office suite programs.
Must have excellent customer service skills.

Responsabilités

Perform skilled mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
Diagnose mechanical failures and problems in heavy/light trucks and automotive electrical systems.
Provide excellent customer service to community members and those contacted during job functions.
