Job summary

UPS in Louisville, KY is seeking a reliable Automotive Mechanic to join our fleet maintenance team. The Automotive Technician will service a varied mix of delivery vehicles, heavy-duty on-road tractors, and trailers, with propulsion types ranging from diesel and gasoline to CNG, LNG, propane, hybrid, and some electric systems.

You will troubleshoot and repair hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls, and operate various power tools and transmissions.

Qualifications

• Active driver’s license required by state.
• 3–5 years of automotive mechanic experience with medium/heavy-duty vehicles.
• Experience with diesel and gasoline engines and fleet repairs.
• DOT inspections experience and strict safety adherence.

Responsibilities

• Meets D.O.T requirements required by job assignment.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems and engine controls.
• Operate standard and manual transmissions and power tools.
• Perform fleet maintenance on delivery vehicles, tractors and trailers.
• Maintain tools and safety equipment and work across varying shifts.
