Job summary

The City of Pearland is seeking a full-time Mechanic in the Engineering & Public Works - Fleet division. The position offers an on-site role with competitive pay and benefits, including retirement and health plans. ASE preferred; valid Texas Driver's License required.

Daily duties include lubrication, diagnostics, and major repairs to keep city vehicles and equipment in optimal condition. Strong teamwork and safety mindset are essential for success in a fast-paced public works environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three (3) years related experience and/or training preferred.
• Valid Texas Driver's License (Class C) required.

Responsibilities

• Perform lubrication, diagnostics and preventive maintenance to maximize vehicle life.
• Troubleshoot and repair A/C, engine, brakes and driveline as needed.
• Work safely with PPE, follow on-call schedule and maintain good housekeeping.
• Coordinate with Lead Mechanic on work procedures and inspections.
