Job summary

The City of Pearland, TX is seeking a full-time Mechanic to support the Engineering & Public Works - Fleet division. The role emphasizes on-time maintenance, diagnostics, and preventative care for City vehicles and equipment.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least three years of related experience, and a Texas Class C license. ASE certification is preferred and the city offers comprehensive benefits and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three (3) years related experience and/or training preferred.
• Valid, Class "C" Texas Driver's License required. ASE certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform lubrication and filter replacements and general mechanical assessments.
• Diagnose issues, troubleshoot and locate defects in vehicles/equipment.
• Inspect, repair and service A/C, engine, brakes, driveline and other components.
• Disassemble units to inspect parts for wear and replace faulty parts.
• Plan work procedures in consultation with Lead Mechanic.
• Maintain proper housekeeping and wear PPE at all times.
