Job summary

The role requires 3-5 years of mechanic experience; ASE certification is helpful but not required. Strong tool proficiency and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, with up to 10% travel.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years proven experience as a mechanic.
• ASE certification helpful but not required.
• Proven ability to work alone, managing time effectively to produce results.
• Operate with flexibility and adaptability to any environment, making immediate decisions and resolving conflict.
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Expertise in brake repairs and auto-body related tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel 10% (within and outside state).

Responsibilities

• Maintain the fleet of Ride Care vehicles, developing and maintaining detailed maintenance logs for every vehicle.
• Assist with retrieval of fleet vehicles when undriveable and restore to operations quickly.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes and brake repairs.
• Inspect and identify safety and repair issues.
• Conduct diagnostic tests to identify vehicle issues and perform auto-body repairs when necessary.
• Replace engine components (including head gaskets, shocks, struts, front end components).
• Remove and install transmissions, transfer cases and engines.
• Rebuild differentials and transfer cases.
• Perform A/C compressor repairs and recharging.
• Tune up, replace spark plugs and sensors; keep workshop organized and clean.
