Job summary

Sanimax in South St. Paul, MN is seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic to keep our trucks, trailers and yard equipment safe, reliable and on the road.

You will perform inspections, diagnose issues with diagnostic tools, weld as needed, complete work orders and ensure DOT-compliant preventive maintenance, collaborating closely with the Transportation team.

This full-time role offers a weekday schedule and a competitive hourly wage.

Qualifications

• Experience in trailer repair and maintenance preferred.
• MIG welding experience required.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of DOT standards and preventive maintenance practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-inspections on all fleet equipment to ensure safety and road readiness
• Diagnose, repair, and maintain trucks and trailers, with a focus on end-dump equipment
• Conduct routine maintenance and light repairs on yard equipment
• Utilize diagnostic tools to accurately identify mechanical and electrical issues
• Perform welding and metal fabrication tasks (MIG welding preferred)
• Complete work orders and maintain accurate service records in a timely manner
• Execute preventive maintenance in compliance with DOT regulations
• Collaborate closely with the Transportation team to ensure fleet reliability and operational efficiency
