Job summary

Sanimax in South Saint Paul, MN is seeking an experienced Fleet Mechanic for the day shift to keep our fleet safe and on the road. You will perform pre-inspections, diagnose and repair trucks and trailers, and perform routine maintenance with a focus on end-dump equipment.

Qualifications

• MIG welding experience required.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Working knowledge of DOT standards and preventive maintenance practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-inspections on all fleet equipment to ensure safety and road readiness.
• Diagnose, repair, and maintain trucks and trailers, with a focus on end-dump equipment.
• Conduct routine maintenance and light repairs on yard equipment.
• Utilize diagnostic tools to accurately identify mechanical and electrical issues.
• Perform welding and metal fabrication tasks (MIG welding preferred).
• Complete work orders and maintain accurate service records in a timely manner.
• Execute preventive maintenance in compliance with DOT regulations.

As a Fleet Mechanic you are responsible for:

• Perform pre-inspections on all fleet equipment to ensure safety and road readiness
• Diagnose, repair, and maintain trucks and trailers, with a focus on end-dump equipment
• Conduct routine maintenance and light repairs on yard equipment
• Utilize diagnostic tools to accurately identify mechanical and electrical issues
• Perform welding and metal fabrication tasks (MIG welding preferred)
• Complete work orders and maintain accurate service records in a timely manner
• Execute preventive maintenance in compliance with DOT regulations
• Collaborate closely with the Transportation team to ensure fleet reliability and operational efficiency

Experience Preferred:

• Previous experience in trailer repair and maintenance strongly preferred
• MIG welding experience required
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Working knowledge of DOT standards and preventive maintenance practices
