Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is hiring a diesel mechanic to safely operate, repair and maintain heavy duty diesel trucks and equipment. You will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and handle work orders and parts for successful repairs.

We expect at least 1 year of diesel mechanic experience, plus basic computer skills and willingness to learn diagnostic software. This Environmental Services role is not garbage truck work; training provided.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical diploma desired.
  • Experience as a diesel mechanic, minimum 1 year.
  • Ability to read and interpret repair manuals and schematics.
  • Willingness to learn and use diagnostic software.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair heavy duty diesel trucks and equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel, CNG, gas and electric systems.
  • Complete work orders, order parts, and document activities daily.
  • Plan and schedule repairs; coordinate with shop supervisor.
