Job summary

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Certification or formal training in diesel mechanics or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience as a semi-truck and trailer mechanic is required.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines and fuel systems.
  • CDL is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and complex repairs on semi-trucks and trailers to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Use advanced diagnostic tools to identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state safety regulations, including hazardous materials handling in fuel tanker trailers.
  • Maintain detailed repair orders documenting maintenance performed, parts used, and labor hours.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals and share knowledge.
  • Stay current on industry trends and best practices in truck and trailer maintenance.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and complex repairs on semi-trucks and trailers to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Use advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Ensure all vehicles comply with federal and state safety regulations, including requirements related to the transportation of hazardous materials in fuel tanker trailers.
  • Maintain detailed repair orders documenting maintenance performed, parts used, and labor hours.
  • Collaborate with mechanics and technicians to achieve team goals and share knowledge and expertise.
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in truck and trailer maintenance.
Education And Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certification or formal training in diesel mechanics or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience as a semi-truck and trailer mechanic required.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines and fuel systems.
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred but not required.

  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment.
