Colonial Transportation Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Fleet Mechanic to perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on semi trucks and trailers, ensuring safety and reliability across our fleet.

You will work with advanced tools, stay current on industry practices, and contribute to a dynamic team with opportunities for growth within Colonial Group, Inc.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Diesel mechanics training or certification preferred.
• Experience as a semi-truck and trailer mechanic required.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines and fuel systems.
• CDL preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on semi-trucks and trailers.
• Use advanced diagnostic tools to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state safety regulations including hazmat rules.
• Maintain repair orders with parts used and labor hours.
• Collaborate with mechanics and technicians to achieve team goals.
• Stay current on industry trends and best practices in maintenance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and complex repairs on semi-trucks and trailers to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Use advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Ensure all vehicles comply with federal and state safety regulations, including requirements related to the transportation of hazardous materials in fuel tanker trailers.
• Maintain detailed repair orders documenting maintenance performed, parts used, and labor hours.
• Collaborate with mechanics and technicians to achieve team goals and share knowledge and expertise.
• Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in truck and trailer maintenance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification or formal training in diesel mechanics or a related field preferred.
• Previous experience as a semi-truck and trailer mechanic required.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines and fuel systems.
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred but not required.

• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
