Job Description:

The Fleet Mechanic / Oil and Lube Technician will repair the company's fleet to meet DOT standards and ensure reliability on public highways. Responsibilities include inspecting all fleet equipment for compliance and functionality, ensuring moving parts are well-greased, troubleshooting issues, and participating in repairs. A passion for safety and pride in maintaining complex machinery are essential.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on all equipment.
2. Inspect vehicles regularly.
3. Perform mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairs through troubleshooting and repair to specifications.
4. Conduct minor repairs such as cutting, welding, tire changes, and light replacements.
5. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
6. Keep records of repairs and update our work order system for tracking.
7. Follow company policies, procedures, and safety rules.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Minimum of 1 year of relevant mechanical experience or vocational training.
2. Strong mechanical abilities related to fleet maintenance.
3. Knowledge of metal fabrication, cutting, and welding.
4. High competence with truck/trailer systems.
5. CDL license is not required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Stooping, bending, and squatting.
• Climbing ladders and working at heights up to 20 feet using appropriate PPE.
• Climbing stairs frequently.
• Lifting up to 50 pounds.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

• Typical truck shop environment with potentially high noise levels, indoors and outdoors. Willingness to work all shifts, including overtime and weekends, as needed.
