Job summary

City of St. George is seeking a Master Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel, gasoline, and heavy equipment including emergency vehicles and transit buses. The role emphasizes CAN/multiplex systems, OBDII diagnostics, and electrical work in a high‑demand municipal shop.

You will lead skilled mechanical tasks, mentor Journey and Apprentice Technicians, and support scheduling while ensuring safety and compliance in a bustling urban fleet environment.

Qualifications

• Eight years of automotive, diesel, or heavy equipment repair experience.
• Master ASE certification within six months of hire; valid Utah Class B license or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair diesel, gasoline, and heavy equipment including emergency vehicles and transit assets.
• Repair and service automobiles and light trucks; major engine overhauls and transmission work.
• Diagnose systems using OBDII and CAN multiplexing; perform preventive maintenance and upfits.
