Job summary

City of St. George is seeking a Journe y Technician to diagnose, maintain, and repair diesel, gasoline, and medium/heavy duty vehicles and equipment. The role emphasizes extensive electrical work, CAN/multiplex networks, and up-fitting vehicles with advanced diagnostic software.

You will work a 4-day schedule, 6am-5pm, with opportunities for ASE certifications and paid training through industry partners. Benefits include great health care options and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education or vocational training may substitute for up to two years of experience.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing diesel, gasoline and heavy equipment; ability to interpret CAN/multiplex networks.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain and repair diesel, gasoline, and heavy vehicles and equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and major overhauls as required.
• Read and interpret diagnostic data using OBDII tech and CAN systems.
• Up-fit vehicles with electrical and computer software knowledge.
• Document repair notes for history and future reference.
