Job summary

The City of St. George is seeking a Fleet Master Technician to diagnose, maintain, and repair diesel, gasoline, and heavy vehicles. This full-time role offers a strong benefits package, opportunity for advancement to higher pay, and work within a collaborative Fleet Department.

Candidate must have eight years of relevant experience, High School diploma, and ASE Master certification within six months. A Utah Class B license is required within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of eight (8) years full-time experience in automotive, diesel, or heavy equipment repair.
• Thorough knowledge of wiring CAN/multiplexing networks on modern vehicles.
• Within six (6) months, obtain Master ASE certification; fifteen years experience may substitute for certification.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license; Utah Commercial (Class B) license within six months.
• Read and write English at business level.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair diesel, gasoline, and various vehicles and equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and up-fit heavy vehicles.
• Read, diagnose, and repair CAN/multiplexing networks and utilize diagnostic tools (OBDII).
• Supervise Journey Technician and Apprentice Technician on the job training.
• Assist supervisory scheduling and fleet technician oversight as needed.
