Job summary

Jisco Marine Sdn Bhd is seeking a hands-on Chief Engineer/Marine Engineer to lead the technical operations and maintenance of the fleet. You will oversee daily maintenance, repairs, dry docking, budgets and survey schedules, while ensuring safety, compliance and cost control across vessels.

Sea-going experience as Chief Engineer with Class 2 cert is preferred; DP vessel exposure is a plus. Travel may be required to support offshore and domestic operations.

Qualifications

• Min Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 5-8 years of relevant experience in a similar position.
• Sea-going work experience as Chief Engineer/Marine Engineer with Class 2 certification or equivalent; DP experience advantageous.
• Good organizational and communication skills and hands-on approach.
• Independent, resourceful and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Analytical, proactive in troubleshooting and problem solving; familiar with ISM/ISPS.
• Able to conduct effective stand-up training for vessel crews.
• Willing to travel on short notice as required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of maintenance and repair, budgeting, and survey schedules for the fleet.
• Coordinate with customers on technical and operational matters including vessel performance.
• Attend to dry docking, repairs, and determine repair specs for dockings.
• Provide reports on dry docking works, budgets and expenditures.
• Source technical supplies and ensure economical rates; maintain certificates and safety compliance.
• Supervise contractors for repairs/maintenance and perform cost control on spares and docking.
• Monitor vessel technical status with class certs and surveys; ensure QHSE compliance.
• Travel as required and provide technical assistance domestically and overseas.

Education

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

Class 2 certification

Seagoing experience as Chief Engineer/Marine Engineer

DP vessel experience advantageous

Organizational and communication skills

Independent and resourceful

Analytical troubleshooting

Familiar with ISM/ISPS

Stand-up training for vessel crews

Willingness to travel on short notice
