Job summary

Shaft Drillers International is seeking a seasoned Fleet Manager in Mt. Morris, PA to oversee a large equipment fleet and a maintenance team.

You will optimize uptime, safety, and cost through preventive maintenance, data-driven decision making, and the adoption of digital tools like AI and telematics. You will coordinate repairs, manage vendor relationships, and ensure regulatory compliance while driving continuous improvement across SDI’s drilling and support operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of fleet/equipment management experience.
• Experience with drill rigs and off-road equipment.
• Knowledge of DOT compliance for on-road fleet.
• Hands-on with telematics platforms.
• Leadership of cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day fleet movement and maintenance operations.
• Build and improve the preventive maintenance program.
• Track utilization, cost per hour, and KPIs using fleet software.
• Coordinate repairs with internal shop, field mechanics, OEM service and vendors.
• Drive adoption of digital tools and coach the team on using them.
• Maintain audit-ready records for inspections and certifications; ensure DOT compliance.
• Support safety initiatives and fleet standards.
• Manage relationships with suppliers and leasing companies.
• Oversee inventory of parts, tools, and consumables.
• Prepare reports and dashboards on fleet efficiency and costs for leadership.
• Collaborate with shop supervisors and field teams to keep rigs productive.
• Develop the internal fleet team and assign priorities.
