Job summary

Geotechnical and Environmental Consultants, Inc. is seeking a skilled Geotechnical Drill Rig and Fleet Mechanic to join our team. The role maintains, diagnoses, and repairs drill rigs, support vehicles, trailers, and fleet assets to ensure safe operations.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience with heavy equipment, hydraulic and diesel systems, and welding/fabrication. CDL preferred. Applicants should read manuals and work independently, with strong organizational skills and attention

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience maintaining heavy equipment, diesel trucks, or drilling equipment.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, diesel engines, electrical systems, and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
• Ability to read service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic information.
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair geotechnical drill rigs, support trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and scheduled servicing on fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Repair hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, diesel engine, and mechanical systems.
• Conduct welding and fabrication repairs as needed.
• Maintain records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.
• Coordinate with drilling crews and management to minimize equipment downtime.
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies and applicable regulations.
• Assist with maintaining parts inventory and ordering replacement components.
