As a Fleet Manager, you will run point as the leader of all fleet operations supporting the vehicle lifecycle in the region. This includes leading the Fleet Operations team, managing relationships with vendors and supply chain teams, and ensuring our vehicles are safe, clean, and able to deliver an exceptional experience for our members.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Operations leadership on strategic goals and initiatives; lead local teams to improve overall member satisfaction (NPS) and other business objectives.
• Manage the process of in‑fleeting and de‑fleeting vehicles from beginning to end.
• Maintain fleet costs in accordance with market budget.
• Negotiate and manage vendor service contracts and relationships to ensure vehicles are properly maintained, repaired, and cleaned to Zipcar’s high standard.
• Oversee payments to third‑party vendors and ensure invoices are coded appropriately via ORACLE.
• Collaborate with Zipcar functional teams to support performance and process improvement.
• Hire, train, and develop fleet management staff—performance management, succession planning, goal setting, and performance reviews.
• Coordinate the repair lifecycle of vehicles, working with ABG supply chain partners, maintenance vendors, shuttling companies, towing vendors, and impound recovery facilities.
• Update Zipcar’s platform daily with ETAs, relevant notes, and close out ticket loops after completion.
• Use data to make informed decisions on repairs and vehicle lifecycle on a daily basis.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 4–5 years of operations or fleet management experience (preferably in rental car or car‑share).
• Prior experience in operations for a complex fleet organization.
• Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gather and analyze information skillfully, while maintaining confidentiality.
• Demonstrated ability to identify staffing needs and hire key employees.
• Experience tracking the success of operational improvement programs with an eye for sustainable, organization‑wide improvements.
• Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record (per company standards).

The annual starting salary for this position is between $65,000 and $75,000 annually. Starting pay may vary by geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
