The Fleet Manager will facilitate seamless distribution and collection of textile products in a timely manner, ensuring customer satisfaction through coordinated efforts of the production team and adapting to ever-changing business demands by leading the team with efficiency and precision.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and implement fleet management policies and procedures
- Monitor fleet performance and efficiency
- Coordinate vehicle maintenance and repairs, create logs, and ensure documentation of pre/post trip walk-arounds; schedule regular maintenance; track inventory of spare parts and supplies
- Manage driver schedules and efficient routes; develop methods to decrease costs and improve efficiency
- Ensure compliance with NY/NYC & NJ DOT safety regulations and standards
- Optimize fleet operations to reduce costs and improve productivity
- Establish efficient routes and transportation schedules
- Manage vehicle licensure and registration
- Ensure all fleet members have proper licenses and up-to-date training
- Monitor drivers to ensure adherence to schedules and proper driving practices
- Provide reports on schedules, maintenance, and fleet progress
- Ensure drivers follow working hours; manage attendance and performance
- Store driver records and logs securely, in accordance with laws and regulations
- Oversee recruitment and selection, including interviews and hiring decisions
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations
- Follow the latest legislative codes, laws, and prerequisites
- Identify issues, create or provide solutions, and take actions to resolve guest-related issues promptly, ensuring the best outcomes for guest satisfaction
- Maintain knowledge of NY/NYC & NJ DOT and OSHA regulations
Job Requirements
- At least 4 years of previous fleet management/logistics operations experience
- Ability to work varied schedules to support 24-hour operations
- Fluent in Spanish
- Working knowledge of related helpful skills
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and focus on detail in a fast-paced environment
- Follow safety procedures due to physical risks
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Teamwork orientation and openness to feedback
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods and perform physical tasks such as reaching, bending, climbing, and carrying objects
- Organizational skills to manage multiple projects
- Proven success managing fleet operations/logistics in a high-volume, time-sensitive industry
- Perseverance, positive attitude, and curiosity to challenge the status quo
- Attention to detail and pride in work
- Proactive in balancing tasks and anticipating next steps
- Local candidates only; U.S. Citizenship/Work Authorization required
- Ability to speak, write, and understand the primary language of the workplace
- Flexible schedule including day, night shifts, holidays, and weekends
- Valid U.S. Driver's License and experience with 26K trucks
Qualifications
- Ability to lift, push, or pull 50 pounds
- Proficiency in MS Office, Google Suite, and basic computer skills
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field; High school diploma or equivalent required
- Proven experience as a Fleet Manager or similar role
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and best practices
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to analyze data and make strategic decisions
- Effective communication skills for interacting with drivers, vendors, and teams
License/Certification
- Relevant advanced trainings and certifications
- Certification in Fleet Management (e.g., Certified Automotive Fleet Manager) – nice to have
- Experience with telematics systems – nice to have
- Familiarity with environmental regulations related to fleet operations – nice to have
