Job summary

Nixon Power Services in Brentwood, TN seeks an experienced Fleet Manager to own our fleet of roughly 284 vehicles, including 218 field service trucks and 66 support vehicles across multiple states. The role focuses on availability, cost control, maintenance, replacement planning, safety, and KPI reporting.

You will manage lifecycle, vendor relationships, data analytics, and budget planning, driving efficiencies and standardization to support operations and growth within a leading energy services

Qualifications

• Own fleet management and performance across the organization.
• Manage vehicle lifecycle from acquisition to disposal.
• Develop replacement strategies based on mileage, age, maintenance history, utilization, downtime and total cost of ownership.
• Experience with Ford Fleet and related vendors is a plus.
• Strong data analytics to identify trends and inform decisions.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• CAF M, CAFS, or other fleet cert is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the overall management and performance of Nixon’s fleet across the organization.
• Manage the complete vehicle lifecycle: acquisition, upfitting, deployment, maintenance, replacement, disposal.
• Develop and maintain replacement strategies using mileage, age, maintenance, utilization and TCO.
• Manage relationships with Ford Fleet, dealers, upfitters, maintenance providers, telematics providers, fuel programs and other vendors.
• Oversee preventive maintenance, repairs, recalls, and downtime to keep field technicians productive.
• Coordinate fleet administration: registrations, titles, licensing, inspections, documentation.
• Oversee telematics, fuel programs, utilization, miles, and data trends for improvements.
• Coordinate accident management, repairs, insurance claims, rentals, and return-to-service with Safety and HR.

Nixon Power Services is seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to take ownership of our company fleet of approximately 284 vehicles, including 218 field service trucks and 66 sales, management, and support vehicles operating across our multi-state footprint.

This is a new dedicated position at Nixon. Our fleet has historically been managed across multiple areas of the organization, and we have established processes, systems, and vendor relationships in place. The Fleet Manager will bring these responsibilities under dedicated ownership, strengthen our existing program, and continue developing our fleet strategy as the company grows.

The Fleet Manager will be responsible for the overall performance and lifecycle of Nixon’s fleet, with a focus on vehicle availability, cost management, maintenance, replacement planning, safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Own the overall management and performance of Nixon’s fleet, serving as the primary point of accountability for fleet-related activities across the organization.
• Manage the complete vehicle lifecycle, including acquisition, specifications, upfitting, deployment, maintenance, replacement, and disposal.
• Develop and maintain vehicle replacement strategies based on mileage, age, maintenance history, utilization, downtime, resale value, and total cost of ownership.
• Manage relationships with Ford Fleet, dealers, upfitters, maintenance providers, telematics providers, fuel programs, and other fleet-related vendors.
• Oversee preventive maintenance, repairs, recalls, and vehicle downtime with a particular focus on keeping field service technicians productive and their vehicles available.
• Manage fleet administration and compliance, including vehicle assignments, registrations, titles, licensing, inspections, and required documentation.
• Oversee fleet telematics, fuel programs, utilization, mileage, and other vehicle data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Coordinate accident management, vehicle repairs, insurance claims, rentals, and return-to-service activities in partnership with Safety, Human Resources, and other departments.
• Develop annual and multi-year fleet budgets and replacement plans. Establish and report meaningful fleet KPIs, including vehicle availability, maintenance costs, cost per mile, utilization, fuel performance, replacement needs, and other key measures.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve fleet reliability, reduce operating costs, standardize vehicle configurations, and improve overall fleet performance.
• Partner with Operations, Accounting, Human Resources, Safety, and field leadership to ensure the fleet effectively supports the needs of the business.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of fleet management or comparable experience preferred.
• Experience managing a fleet of 200+ vehicles is strongly preferred.
• Experience with light-duty trucks, commercial vehicles, or field service fleets strongly preferred.
• Experience with Ford commercial or fleet vehicles is a plus.
• Strong understanding of vehicle lifecycle management, maintenance, replacement planning, and total cost of ownership.
• Experience working with fleet management systems, telematics, fuel programs, and outside vendors.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to identify trends and make informed decisions.
• Strong organizational, project management, and vendor management skills.
• Ability to take ownership, establish priorities, solve problems, and work independently across a multi-location organization.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with field employees, managers, executives, vendors, and other departments.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience preferred.
• CAFM, CAFS, or other fleet management certification is a plus.
