Job summary

MTM Transit in Denver, CO is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Technician/Mechanic (B) to service a 96-vehicle fleet. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain MTM Transit service vehicles based at the Denver location, reporting to the Fleet Maintenance Manager and General Manager.

The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and professionalism. Starting pay ranges from $33.00 to $37.00 per hour, with ASE certification bonuses and opportunities for ASE certification growth and training.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ years of auto/truck experience or automotive courses; entry C level.
• 438
• Valid driver's license required.
• AC609 certification or ability to obtain; ASE training encouraged.
• Must have or willing to obtain proper hand tools; MTM provides diagnostic gear.
• DOT physical and MVR background checks are part of the process.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, service, diagnose, and repair MTM Transit service vehicles.
• Repair areas include automotive/light duty, powertrains, undercarriage/chassis, electrical, HVAC, wheelchair lifts, and accessories.
• Record repair activity in the electronic fleet maintenance system.
• Perform preventive maintenance as required.
• Coordinate with Fleet Maintenance Manager and General Manager.
• Take on additional duties as assigned or required.

We Are Looking for a Fleet Maintenance Technician/Mechanic (B) to help maintain a fleet of 96 vehicles in our Denver, CO location. This position consists of service, diagnosing, repair, and general maintenance of MTM Transit service vehicles.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 2pm - 10:30pm

Starting Pay: $33.00 to $37.00 per hour - based on experience and technician level.

What your job will look like:

• Responsible for maintenance, service, diagnosing, & repair of MTM Transit service vehicles
• Areas of repair to include but not limited to Automotive / Light duty vehicles, powertrains, undercarriage/ chassis, electronic and electrical equipment, air conditioning and heating systems, wheelchair lifts, and vehicle accessories and equipment drivability and diagnosis
• Record vehicle repair activity into electronic fleet maintenance management system
• Perform preventive maintenance as required
• Work with local Fleet Maintenance Manager and General Manager
• Perform additional duties as assigned or required

What You'll Need:

Experience, Education & Certifications:

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
• Must have minimum of 1+ years of auto/truck experience or automotive courses from automotive institute for entry C level position. Multi year experience and certifications a plus for A and B level positions.
• Must possess a valid driver's license
• Must possess the AC609 Certification or ability to obtain
• Must possess proper hand tools or willing to obtain. MTM will supply diagnostic, heavy and specialty equipment
• Willingness to train and take ASE A series tests as needed
• Must pass a DOT Physical as required
• Must be able to pass an annual Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background screen
• Experience using hand and power tools, machinery, sophisticated test and diagnostic equipment related to automotive repair

Skills:

• Must be able to drive a motor vehicle and pass a DOT Physical (Non-Driver) and drug test (including medical marijuana)
• Must be able to communicate with others and comprehend instructions
• Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers
• Able to bend, stoop, crawl, and reach above their head
• Must have the ability to lift 50lbs

• ASE certifications preferred for level A or B mechanic

MTM Transit ASE Certification Program $$$$

Master ASE certification in an approved series, the employee will receive an annual bonus of $2,500 . For each year the employee retains their Master ASE in an approved series you will receive $2,500.Each initial passing of an ASE test you will now receive a one time bonus of $250.00.MTM will pay for each test for the technicians up to 2 times per test. If a technician fails their test multiple times (2) then MTM may choose to have the technician pay for additional testing for the same test and would then reimburse the technician upon passing.
