Job summary

COTA, based in Columbus, Ohio, seeks an experienced Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the frontline supervision of bus maintenance activities and ensure a safe, reliable fleet that meets service commitments. You will drive cost efficiency, asset care, and adherence to MMS documentation across the maintenance workflow.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED, and four (4) years of supervisory experience in vehicle maintenance.
• ASE certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedules PMI, monitors repairs, and conducts vehicle audits.
• Documents maintenance actions in MMS and manages warranty paperwork.
• Coordinates repairs across shops and assigns personnel.
• Maintains records of vacations, schedules, and time cards.
• Ensures tools and equipment are available and service quality.
• Enforces labor relations and fair disciplinary actions.
• Provides training and develops staff; promotes teamwork.
• Handles road service calls and ensures timely response.
• Ensures buses are serviced with fuel, oil, and fluids; cleans interiors/exteriors.
• Maintains attendance and punctuality.
