Job summary

EMR USA Metal Recycling in Camden, NJ is seeking an experienced Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance of a large heavy-duty fleet. You will lead a team of technicians, manage PM schedules, order parts, and ensure DOT/FMCSA compliance to keep equipment safe and productive.

Ideal candidates have strong diesel and hydraulic systems knowledge, 7+ years in heavy-truck maintenance, and proven supervision of union staff.

Qualifications

7+ years of hands-on mechanical experience with heavy trucks or equipment.
Strong diesel and hydraulic systems expertise.
Experience supervising maintenance staff, including union workers.
Familiarity with DOT/FMCSA safety regulations and inspections.

Responsibilities

Oversee maintenance and repair of Class 8 trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.
Develop and manage preventive maintenance schedules.
Assign daily work and prioritize repairs for technicians.
Diagnose mechanical issues in diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
Order parts and maintain accurate inventory records.
Utilize MaintainX to document work orders and photos.
Ensure compliance with DOT/FMCSA regulations and safety standards.
Supervise, train, and support maintenance staff, including union workers.
Coordinate with transportation and operations teams to minimize downtime.
Provide on-call support for critical breakdowns.
Communicate with vendors for parts and service.
