Job summary
Republic Services is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to lead a maintenance shop supporting a busy post-collection operation. You will supervise a team of technicians responsible for preventive maintenance and repairs on trucks (diesel and alternate fuels), containers, and other heavy equipment, ensuring work complies with safety and regulatory standards.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will plan and schedule repairs, conduct daily shop huddles, perform quality control
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- ASE Certification required; Master Certified preferred.
- Maintenance experience with heavy equipment and fleet.
- Experience supervising technicians and coordinating repair work.
Responsibilities
- Provide direction to technicians and lead workers to ensure safe, efficient repairs and maintenance.
- Monitor performance and redirect activities as needed.
- Report on performance and suggest process improvements.
- Supervise daily shop operations, coaching and evaluating staff; manage hiring decisions with HR.
- Inspect outside repairs for compliance with safety and regulations.
- Identify training opportunities and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee complex diagnostics and road-testing when needed.
- Manage inventory control and approve budgeted expenses.
