Job summary

MARTA is seeking a maintenance supervisor to oversee the preventive maintenance, inspection, overhaul, servicing and repair of the Authority's revenue and non-revenue fleets. You will supervise maintenance personnel and ensure work meets quality and safety standards using CMMS and inventory systems.

The role requires an Associate degree in mechanics or related field and four years of experience with diesel or natural gas powered equipment, plus strong communication and computer skills.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Mechanics or related field.
• Four years’ experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment powered by diesel or natural gas.
• Familiarity with automated maintenance management systems and automated inventory control systems.
• Good oral and written communications skills; familiarity with desktop computers and standard operating programs.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates maintenance personnel in preventive maintenance, inspection, overhaul, servicing and repair of revenue and non-revenue fleets.
• Assigns work to and supervises unit employees.
• Uses the Computerized Maintenance Management System to manage day-to-day activities and ensure cost-effective operations.
• Coaches personnel on proper performance of work; provides technical assistance.
• Ensures repairs are performed correctly and completely; acts as first line Quality Assurance.
• Maintains maintenance and property accountability for shop equipment and fixed assets.
