Job summary

Goodwill of Colorado is seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Department leader to oversee daily operations and strategic direction, including management of a college partnership for diesel mechanic training. You will supervise mechanics, schedulers, and staff, while ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and reliability of fleet vehicles.

The role requires strong leadership, budgeting acumen, and the ability to coordinate with external partners to maximize uptime and minimize downtime across the fleet.

Qualifications

• Master Mechanic or equivalent required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; trade school certificate preferred.
• Colorado Driver’s License; ability to obtain CDL; medical card.

Responsibilities

• Advise and counsel subordinates on work requirements and personnel issues.
• Perform medium and light vehicle repair; supervise safety checks.
• Organize vehicle records; plan daily/weekly/monthly priorities.
• Manage repair parts, reorder as needed; monitor budget and spend.
• Ensure fleet vehicles meet safety, regulatory, and operational standards.
• Oversee annual maintenance budget and cost-saving initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with safety standards and employee manuals.
