Job summary

North American Transportation Management Institute in Selma, NC, is seeking an Operations leader to oversee the fleet maintenance shop, safety, and administrative duties. This role directs shop staff, ensures efficient maintenance, and drives cost control across maintenance activities.

You will coordinate repairs, monitor schedules, and ensure compliance with safety programs, inspections, and company policies while managing parts and budgeting to support the fleet lifecycle.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• 3-5 years maintenance experience.
• Must possess a valid state Driver's License meeting Company standards; defensive driving program.
• CDL preferred; various vehicle certifications may be preferred.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical documents; ability to manage budgets and procurement.

Responsibilities

• Manages daily work and safety of shop personnel involved in fleet maintenance and repair.
• Monitors labor hours and consumables within budget.
• Coordinates maintenance scheduling and repairs with other departments.
• Ensures compliance with safety programs, vehicle inspections, and CVOR (Canada) compliance where applicable.
• Oversees parts inventory and purchase orders; develops fleet service budgets.
• Reviews maintenance functions and operational/expense reporting; seeks cost reductions.
• Maintains documentation such as work orders, inspections, and certifications.

Powered Industrial Equipment Certification

ASE Certification preferred

Trailer Refer (608) Certification preferred

Cab Air (609) Certification preferred

Air Brake Certification preferred
