Job summary

Paper Transport, Inc. in Jacksonville, FL seeks an Equipment Manager to keep tractors and trailers safe, reliable, and ready to haul freight. You’ll work with drivers, Operations, maintenance vendors, and our corporate team to move equipment and resolve issues quickly.

This role suits organized, resourceful individuals who can work independently in a fast-paced environment, with emphasis on preventive maintenance, vendor coordination, and accurate record-keeping.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two or more years of experience in transportation, equipment/fleet management, maintenance, purchasing, or related field preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate preventative maintenance for tractors and trailers.
• Work with maintenance vendors to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective repairs.
• Coordinate emergency breakdowns with drivers, vendors, and Operations to minimize downtime.
• Build and maintain relationships with local maintenance vendors.
• Communicate equipment updates and concerns with drivers and the corporate office.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activity, and related costs.
