Job summary

Paper Transport in Jacksonville, FL is seeking an Equipment Manager to keep tractors and trailers safe, reliable, and ready to haul freight. You’ll work with drivers, Operations, maintenance vendors, and our corporate team to keep equipment moving.

The ideal candidate is organized, resourceful, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2+ years in transportation, equipment/fleet management, maintenance, purchasing, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate preventative maintenance for tractors and trailers.
• Coordinate maintenance vendors to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective repairs.
• Coordinate emergency breakdowns with drivers, vendors, and Operations to minimize downtime.
• Build and maintain relationships with local maintenance vendors.
• Partner with Operations daily to identify equipment concerns and determine actions.
• Communicate equipment issues to drivers and provide timely support.
• Monitor equipment condition and availability to ensure readiness.
