Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• DOT air brake inspection certification and Annual Vehicle Inspections certification.
• Class B CDL within 6 months of hire.
• Supervisory experience in shop or maintenance preferred.
• Full set of hand tools required.
• Knowledge of welding, compactor repair, air brake inspection, and vehicle inspections.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervise all maintenance department employees and plan work.
• Repair vehicles and equipment and verify repairs by staff.
• Establish and enforce a preventative maintenance program.
• Maintain vehicle inspection, maintenance and safety records.
• Ensure shop and safety standards compliance.
• Coordinate safety meetings and ensure safe duties.
• Manage inventory and procurement of supplies and parts.
• Recruit, hire, and train shop personnel.
• Review work orders and track expenses.
