Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Fleet Manager to supervise maintenance personnel and oversee equipment readiness at a large shop location.

You will lead and develop technicians, plan daily staffing, and coordinate repairs to keep tractors and trailers in peak condition. The role requires strong leadership, 2+ years supervisory experience in vehicle maintenance, and knowledge of DOT regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of vehicle maintenance experience with supervisory exposure.
• Ability to operate a manual transmission truck.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of tractor and trailer maintenance preferred.
• Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations preferred.
• Proven leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Multi-tasking oriented with good organizational skills.
• Basic Microsoft Office and Internet skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, educate and develop employees.
• Plan daily staffing to meet workload.
• Provide support to Operations regarding all equipment issues.
• Monitor costs and improve efficiencies.
• Perform payroll approval and repair order/documentation tasks.
• Ensure clean, safe working conditions of the facility and equipment.
• Communicate with Fleet Maintenance leadership to align with operations.
• Identify equipment sent to outside vendors for repairs.
• Conduct pre-shift meetings and weekly operations meetings.
• Collaborate with Safety and other departments on incidents.
• Comply with laws/regulations and company policies.
