Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to manage shop personnel and ensure equipment readiness across a FedEx Freight location. You will lead, train and develop the team while coordinating repairs, safety, and compliance with DOT rules.

Qualifications

• Two years of vehicle maintenance experience with at least six months in a lead/supervisory role.
• Must be able to operate a manual transmission truck.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of tractor and trailer maintenance preferred.
• Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations preferred.
• Proven leadership and interpersonal skills; able to multi-task and stay organized.
• Basic Microsoft Office and Internet skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, educate and develop employees.
• Ensure equipment repairs are completed in a high-quality and timely manner.
• Monitor employee performance and provide corrective action.
• Plan daily staffing to meet workload.
• Provide support to Operations on equipment-related issues.
• Monitor and analyze opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies.
• Perform administrative functions including payroll approval, repair order maintenance and compliance documentation.
• Ensure clean, safe working conditions of the facility and equipment.
• Communicate with Fleet Maintenance leadership to meet operations needs.
• Identify and monitor equipment sent to outside vendors for repairs.
• Conduct pre-shift and weekly meetings with Operations.
• Collaborate with Safety and other departments on safety matters.
• Comply with laws/policies, as well as company procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.
