Job summary

SpartanNash in San Antonio is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance operations on all transport and building equipment, ensuring safety and compliance. You will work with vendors, help specify equipment, manage labor contracts, and lead a team through daily operations.

A bachelor’s or associate degree in relevant fields and 5+ years of fleet maintenance experience are preferred, with CDL A and supervisory background valued.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Heavy Truck and Diesel required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Logistics preferred.
• Five years of fleet maintenance experience.
• CDL A license.
• Two years of supervisory/management experience.
• Federal 608/609 and brake inspection certifications preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and ensure corrective maintenance and repairs are performed to documented compliance standards, efficiently and safely.
• Monitor and inspect the work environment for housekeeping and safety.
• Coordinate with equipment vendors and outside service providers as needed.
• Assist development of equipment specifications and approved purchases.
• Provide technical recommendations for projects.
• Administer the labor contract and document associate activities.
• Assist with union grievances and driver/contract issues.
• Ensure daily/weekly reports are complete and communicated timely.
• Monitor KPI metrics and adjust to meet financial goals.
• Ensure DOT compliance, including physicals and drug screenings.
• Arrange mechanic safety meetings and investigate on-the-job injuries as needed.
• Staffing, training, and performance management of the department.
