Job summary

Groendyke seeks a Fleet Manager to lead the terminal shop operations, ensuring safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance across the fleet. You will supervise shop staff, plan preventive maintenance, coordinate with operations, and maintain records and parts inventories to optimize uptime and service quality.

The role requires strong leadership, a track record in heavy truck maintenance, and a meticulous approach to safety and documentation.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of heavy truck maintenance experience.
• Strong leadership and team development skills.
• Administrative and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to coordinate multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High degree of computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the safe and efficient operation of the terminal shop.
• Supervise, coach, and develop shop personnel.
• Ensure preventive maintenance and repairs are completed on time.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with operations to support daily service.
• Maintain and service shop equipment, including cleaning rack equipment.
• Manage parts inventory to support timely fleet repairs.
• Maintain electronic maintenance records and close repair orders within 24 hours.
• Schedule shop personnel to ensure adequate staffing during peak service hours.
• Perform required federal and state vehicle inspections and document equipment.
• Maintain maintenance records per company policies and regulatory requirements.
