Job summary

Unknown Fleet is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Manager to grow and lead our fleet maintenance operation, including road service, repairs, and the expanding owner-operator program. You will control costs, report trends to leadership, and advise on equipment decisions with our vendor partners.

The role is a full-time, office-based leadership position with 24/7 on-call coverage for road service and repair coordination, requiring hands-on repair experience and strong Excel skills to track downtime and

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience repairing heavy-duty trucks, trailers or similar equipment.
• Strong computer skills and solid Excel experience.
• Able to troubleshoot problems by phone with drivers on the roadside.
• Comfort negotiating with vendors and reviewing invoices.
• Willingness to take 24/7 on-call duty for after-hours breakdowns.

Responsibilities

• Lead and build the fleet maintenance and road service operation as the owner-operator program expands.
• Control repair and maintenance cost, and report trends to leadership.
• Advise management on equipment decisions, vendor partners and cost-saving opportunities.
• Handle breakdown calls and dispatch road service, mobile mechanics and tow trucks, day or night.
• Diagnose issues over the phone with drivers and decide whether to repair on site, tow or swap equipment.
• Arrange repairs and get trucks moving overnight so loads deliver on time.
• Negotiate rates with repair shops, road service providers and equipment vendors.
• Approve repair work, review invoices and track downtime and repair spend in Excel.
• Full-time, office-based leadership role.
